For the past two - three weeks I get nauseous after eating. It does not matter how little I eat or what I eat, I always feel ill afterward. The nausea last from anywhere from 30 minutes to about 2 hours. Shortly after it goes away, I am usually very hungry.

Nausea is a symptom of various health conditions. Prolonged nausea (and vomiting) can be due to psychological or physical etiologies. Possible causes of nausea include: pregnancy, foodborne diseases, adverse effects of some medications, disorders of the central nervous system, fatigue, depression, anxiety, motion sickness, heartburn, gastroenteritis and peptic ulcer.
The onset of nausea helps in narrowing down possible causes. When a patient complains of nausea shortly after eating, the symptom may indicate peptic ulcer disease or could also be a symptom of psychiatric disturbance. Gastric symptoms occurring one to eight hours after a meal may be due to food-borne diseases.
Persistent nausea should prompt you to consult a physician. You should also mention that you usually feel very hungry, people who experience this may have conditions ranging from functional stomach disorders to conditions affecting the brain. Treatment will be based on the underlying problem. For peptic ulcer disease, for example, medical intervention as well as lifestyle changes may be recommended by the physician.
