Dextroamphetamine and energy drinks

I am in my last year of university now and finding myself not quite the person I am inside.

Inside I am doing a million things at once and pushing myself more and more. But I find that I am only able to do things when I either take Dexedrine which I take for ADD, or take energy drinks(which I do not want to take all the time). Most of the time I will alternatively just sit down and watch a movie or tv, while in my head saying that I want to go do any one of a million things. I just say to myself I am so tired. I do not sleep very well often but even when I do, I do not think it helps much.

I am no way depressed as I have to my credit done a lot and have a lot. But the only way I have done what I have done is I have taken on little tasks that I am forced to deal with later.

When it comes to a conscious constant effort I would never be able to keep it up. I am so motivated though and want to start my own company, but without being able to put in that constant conscious effort I find it impossible.

I do somewhat attribute it to my A.D.D. but taking Dexedrine more then once a day keeps me up all night and also totally changes the way in which I interact with people.

Alternatively energy drinks seem to give me the exact desired effect I am looking for except they do not last long and I cannot imagine taking them regularly can be good for you.

I am open to any suggestions.

Dexedrine’s active ingredient is Dextroamphetamine which is classified as a psychostimulant. This drug is approved for treatment of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder and for narcolepsy- a condition which is mainly characterized by Excessive Daytime Sleepiness. Dextramphetamine acts on chemicals in the brain and nerves that are responsible for hyperactivity and impulse control, as a result, the person taking this drug will experience increase wakefulness and focus. It will also elevate mood and at the same time decrease anxiety. Just like any medicine, Dextroamphetamine has its share of unpleasant effects. Among the serious side effects of Dexedrine are increased heart rate, tremors, light-headedness, increased blood pressure, difficulty in concentrating, hallucinations, unusual behavior, and muscle twitches. Headache, dry mouth, loss of appetite, decrease libido, diarrhea, constipation and sleep problems are considered less serious side effects.

There are medications that may interact with Dextroamphetamine and they should be avoided because those medicines could either increase the side effects of dextroamphetamine or decrease its effectiveness. Dextramphetamine can be habit-forming, this should only be taken as prescribed by the doctor. It’s improper use may cause life-threatening conditions. As an additional safety precaution, it is recommended to avoid the intake of large amounts of food or drinks that contain caffeine because it can increase the side effects of Dexedrine. You mentioned that you have been getting the ‘desired effect’ from energy drinks, but it would be best to stay away from them and find time to consult your doctor.
