Okay, so I remember the days when the day after one’s birthday, you would end up at the pediatrician’s office for a check-up. The waiting room would be filled with crying kids and angry parents….. but they took you there anyway.
Nowadays, with both parents spending the day at work, taking turns picking up the kids, taking turns cooking or just getting dinner, check-ups have become almost like a part of ancient history… distant memories.
Scheduling medical appointments when your kids seem perfectly healthy to you may sound like a complete waste of time. But the old saying ‘prevention is better than cure’ is still very very true. Regular medical check-ups will catch anything “unusual” and nip it in the bud. This will allow your kids to avoid missing school, and will not only save you time (although right now you’re thinking the opposite) but will save you MONEY! Yes, it is better to pay a doctor’s appointment for a check-up, with labs and such, than to have that hospital bill chew away at your hard earned savings.
Regular check-ups help prevent illnesses and are the best way to keep your child’s immunizations up-to-date. So, when it comes to your child’s health, don’t wait for something to happen. Take the time to visit your Primary Healthcare Physician or your Pediatrician regularly. Your child will be grateful!
