Burning and Swelling of Penis - Urethritis

I sometimes suffer from a buring sensation on the tip of the penis. This only occurs after i have gone to the bathroom. I also suffer from a red spot on the tip of the penis. There is no pain when urinating or even ejaculating. My only problem is the redness on the head of the penis and a burning sensation. The head of the penis is also a bit swollen. I am for certain it is not STDs because I am a virgin and that rules out the possibility of STDs

Dr. Joshua’s Answer:

There may be an ulceration at the opening of the urethra due to chemical (soaps, lotions, etc) or mechanical (manipulation) irritation or an allergic reaction. If it does not heal properly, it may be infected, in which case local antibiotic ointment may do the trick, infrequently an oral antibiotic is needed. Sometimes, aspirin and other painkillers (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as naproxen) may cause irritation of the urethra. Rarely, if there is joint pain or eye irritation involved, it could be due to reactive arthritis which is an autoimmune disease. Have your primary care physician take a look.
