Young Man with Memory Loss

Young Man with Memory Loss
I have severe memory related problems where no longer can retain the learned information well. That is my brain just can’t recall what read few minutes ago. Lately it has been getting worse and worse. Sometimes it now makes writing such letter as this difficult because I have to start clustering words. Lately I need to write everything down what going to say. Literally that is going from point a to point b etc. Not to forget because the memory loss is growing. Also in addition it is its getting difficult to think of what want to say sometimes. It has really impacted my ability to progress. Because I can’t recall stuff instantly. Sometimes I ask even my Mother who is two or three times my age just to help me remembera place person or thing. Notice, I am only 24. Yet in memory I feel going to 80. Words can’t describe the feeling of having short periods of brain deadness. Recently ended up downloading subliminal hypnosis etc etc… Because it is so bad. Its crippling me to the point that is making my life not interesting anymore. Sometimes worse, sometimes better but overall it is heading to worse.

What are possible causes off top of your head for this? I never taken drugs, nor medication that would cause this. I did loss my father when I was 16. I was not their to witness the accident. I did have slight memory problems even before it in early teens. But lately it no longer is little bit. I am basically an old man in a youthful body. I forgot what wanted to add else. Forgive me.

Dr. Joshua’s Answer:

You definitely need to talk to your doctor about this. Significant memory problems in a young patient always warrant a referral to a neurologist. A thorough history and physical + neuro examination is needed.

It is quite likely that your memory loss symptoms are related to failure to concentrate due to stress, overworking, anxiety or depression. Other, rare causes of such symptoms need to be excluded first. For this you will need to see the doctor. I am confident that your memory loss can be worked out and treated. Try not to push yourself too much - remember to give your brain some rest.
