I am not too sure if you can help me. I went for an xray the other day as I was suffering with numbness down my arm. They have found my neck is out of place. When they took the xray they asked me if I had had surgery on my shoulder. I asked why and they showed me the xray with a coil near my clavicle. I have had a lung pleurodesis and breast enhancement surgery. Which one would leave a coil in that area and why is it there? I am going back to my normal doctor tomorrow for him to see the xrays. It is just I have looked up on the internet to see if I could find any information about this to no avail.

Hard to say without seeing the pictures. To me, pleurodesis seems like the more likely source. I am not sure what is meant by “coil”, but I recommend that you obtain the surgery report from the surgeon that performed the pleurodesis and see if any foreign material was left in place.
