Hysterectomy, Adhesions, Gall Bladder Surgery, Constant Pain

I had a hysterectomy about 2yrs ago. I live in constant pain like I have a
period every day all the time. Intercourse doesn’t hurt, but the next day I
fill like someone hit me in the stomach with a 2×4. It hurts to get out of
the bed. The Dr. I go to says I have Inerrable Bowel Syndrome. I have been
on I.B.S. meds for a year and noting has changed. I did have endometriosis
and a lot of scar tissue from a blotched gallbladder surgery the Dr. took
some endometriosis and scar tissues out when I had the hysterectomy. The Dr.
I have said the scar tissue and endometriosis I had left that he did not
take out would go away on its own. I don’t know anything about this, but
what the Dr. has told me. What do you think?

Dr. Joshua’s Answer:

This may be a complicated problem to solve. You’ve had at least two surgeries, and adhesions (scar tissue) have been discovered. Adhesions are a complication of surgery, and may cause pain and discomfort. The treatment is not easy, as further surgery results in more adhesions. Also, contributing to your pain are endometriosis and IBS. I recommend that you have a gynecological examination done, also a consultation with an abdominal surgeon (gastroenterologist) is recommended.
