Urine output, fluid intake, how much?

What percentage of measured fluid intake in 24 hour period should be collected as urine . Healthy 75 year old woman

Dr. Joshua’s Answer:

Normally, a 50 kg woman should need to take about 2500 ml of fluids per day. This consists of the fluid in food and drink.

Insensible losses (faeces, skin, lungs) amount to about 1000 ml.

Therefore, if you take in about 2500 ml of fluids, about 1500 ml of urine should be collected in a 24-hour period.

Generally, urine output should be at least about 1000 ml per day. If there is less urine output, something may not be quite right and you should call your doctor.
