Stomach Cramps, Nausea, Diarrhea, Migraine, Palpitations

I am a 31 year old female. Over the past 6 weeks, I have been experiencing (sp) sereral episodes of the same illness. However, each time I get sick, a new symptom occurs. It started one evening with a sudden onset of stomach cramps and nausea. No other symptons. The next time, was about 2 weeks later, and I experienced the same symptoms, but my heart was “skipping” beats and I was very tired. Then about a week later, it happened again. This time, I had diahrea, but no heart palpatations. Then about 3 days later, it happened again, but with a migraine type headache.

Each time the illness lasts about 12 hours, and is not particular to a time of day, or whether I am exercising or not. I have not changed my diet, or done anything different with myself, and I am wondering if this is something I need to be concerned about.

Dr. Joshua’s Answer:

I recommend that you see a doctor about this. There are many many possible causes for these symptoms, ranging from gastrointestinal (stomach) infections to adrenal tumors and there is no way I can make a diagnosis or even good guesses over the internet.

Schedule an appointment, and in the meantime, I don’t want you to be too concerned. There is an old medical adage “Common things are common”, which means that the cause of your symptoms is likely to be unexceptional and easily treatable.
