I was put on Prozac a month ago for depression and anxiety. I am feeling better and doing counseling and reading self help books. However, I really want my serotonin naturally and have ordered and received some pure L-Tryptophan (5htp never worked for me.) How long do I need to be off the Prozac before starting the L-Tryptophan.

?

I personally do not recommend switching from Prozac to l-tryptophan. But, to answer your question, I recommend at least a month, preferably 2 months off Prozac before starting tryptophan, because fluoxetine (Prozac) is eliminated from the body very slowly.
