White tongue is a common complaint. It doesn’t sound like cancer to me. Some of us have more whitish tongue than others. It is caused by the cells dying and renewing, and it’s normal. White tongue is made worse by alcohol and tobacco use and poor dental hygiene. It is possible to have a yeast infection (oral thrush) on the tongue, which can easily be treated with a yeast antibiotic. Have your doctor look at your tongue and put your mind to rest.
