Stroke CPR, Voodoo tricks

Dear Dr…..Is this Voodoo or is there merit to this ?…When someone suffers a stroke,do not move them, but rather have a syringe or a sterilized needle ready to prick all 10 fingers and draw a drop of blood from each. They should respond quickly, then call 911….If the mouth is crooked ,pull on the ears until they are red, then prick each lobe and draw 2 drops of blood,,,this should straighten the mouth in 5 minutes, while you call 911…This is supposed to have something to do with the capillaries in the brain area

Dr. Joshua’s Answer:

This question made my day…. It is, of course, voodoo and there is no merit.?

If someone suffers a stroke, you need to check the following:

-Call 911 USA / 112 Europe. Follow instructions.

-Airway (remove tight clothing, make sure there is nothing in the mouth)
-Breathing (check for respiratory movements, listen for breaths / feel for air flow from the mouth)

-Commence CPR if not breathing.
or turn the patient on their side if they are breathing.

Nothing else you can do about it, but that’s a lot already!
