Heat Sensation, Treadmill Exercise

Heat Sensation in Leg, Treadmill, Yoga, Kickboxing

I am a 38year old healthy female. I work out 4-6xs per week. I do yoga, kickboxing, treadmill etc. Over the last month or so I feel heat sensations in my left leg. It does not hurt or prohibit any activity, it simply a heat sensation the runs the through the back of my leg.

Dr. Joshua’s Answer:

It could be related to your strenuous physical activity. Possible causes include muscular tension in the upper leg / buttocks area and nerve impingement. Also, spinal disc herniation or nerve compression could cause such a symptom. It is not an altogether uncommon complaint, and as always there is a multitude of possible causes ranging from the common nerve impingements to the rare spinal nerve root or spinal cord tumors and central nervous system disorders, so it’s not possible for me to make a diagnosis over the internet.?

My recommendation is to take a week’s break from the treadmill and other strenuous exercise, give your legs some rest, and if the symptom persists, see your doctor.
