High BUN urea and creatinine

Creatinine 1.46 o.60-1.30 mg/dl
Uric Acid 3.80 3.39-6.99 mg/dl
Triglycerides 50.00 40.35-150.00 mg/dl
Total Cholesterol 191.54 150.00-l200.00 mg/dl
HDL 45.38 35.00-64/61
LDL 136.15 60.00-149.99 mg/dl
VLDL l0.00 40.00 mg/dl
HDL Ratio 4.20 4.00 mg/dl
SGPT 22.00 5.00-40.00 Iu/l

BUN & Creatinine both are a bit highter than normal.
Is it ok?
Why I always feel dizziness everytime when I lay down
or get up? The sympton will go away after a few
minutes. I can feel blood floating to my head when I
bow my head. Somebody told me that it is the unbalance
of the ear. Is that correct?

I am now 65 years of age, my BP is 120/80, I don’t
take any medicine, but only some dietary supplements.
I don’t feel anything wrong with my body, except the
above problems. I execise regularly and bowel is ok.

Hope you can give me some advice about my results and
the cause of the dizziness. Thank you and happy new year.

Dr. Joshua’s Answer:

Your BUN and creatinine levels are high, this is not acceptable as such. There are various possible reasons for this, the most important of which is the possibility of renal failure. Lab tests cannot be interpreted without taking a thorough history and examining the patient, which is why I recommend you talk to your doctor about these results.

Dizziness that varies with position could be just that, positional vertigo, which is best treated by deliberately seeking those positions which feel the worst, and staying in that position until the vertigo goes away. This is an inner-ear problem.

However the symptoms you describe, with the blood rushing etc., are not characteristic of positional vertigo but rather blood pressure related, possibly orthostatic hypotension.

Other reasons for dizziness and vertigo include brain ischemia but that seems unlikely given your symptoms.

Talk to your doctor.
