I have a sore on my butt that looks like a pimple when it started out, and it got bigger like the size of a small pancake and its hard around the edges and it has pus in it. It really hurts to sit or walk. Would you have any idea as to what it might be?
Dr. Joshua’s Answer:
It is likely an infected ateroma, differential diagnostic alternatives include perianal abscess, anal fistula and sinus pilonidalis. Without going into more detail about these, I’ll just say you’ll need at least a course of antibiotics, but more likely you’ll need some minor surgery to get rid of it.
