Arm and leg pain

I stated having some neurological problems a few months ago, it started out as tingling in my hands and feet (upper foot area) then that completely went away and now I am having some low grade pain constantly in my right arm (from elbow to shoulder) and right leg (knee to ankle). When it first started it was just pain all day every other day or so, now it is constant. At first I thought it was pain associated with weakness (I thought weakness hurt) but it hurt even at rest…now I realize it is just low grade pain. I also get muscle joint stiffness in my fingers and toes on the right side. Sometimes my wrist hurts other times it is fine. I can’t spread my toes apart very well on that side. When I walk, my feet on both sides hurt..especially in the joint area. I had an mri of the brain and it said within acceptable limits. I just recently had an emg and it can back normal. My neurologist is having a neck mri done today but said if that comes back normal that is all he can do. Any ideas what could cause this right side pain and muscle pain and stiffness? I am not sure where to go from here. I have also had blood work done for lymes, thyroid, low b levels and it all came back good. Also, occasionally I get heat flashes in parts of my body

Dr. Joshua’s Answer:

It seems to me that you have been examined thoroughly, and you’re scheduled for a neck MRI. I’m happy with those, and if all come back normal, it may be your pain is just muscle stiffness related. Perhaps physical therapy, exercise, and massage would help. Also, a 2-week regime of an NSAID (such as ibuprofen), maybe coupled to a muscle relaxant, might help. Ask your doctor about these possibilities. I’m afraid there’s not much I can add, since you are already being examined and treated by relevant specialists.?
