i swallowed a fish bone five months ago. it is still possible that it may be there and causing me pain because nowadays my throat sometimes get a prickly pain.

It is highly unlikely. Theoretically, a piece of a fish bone could become encapsulated and a granuloma (hard tissue surrounding the foreign object) could develop, in which case it could cause symptoms from time to time. However, I find this unlikely. If the symptoms persist, or become worse,? have your primary care physician take a look.
